Privacy Policy

Date: 17 September 2026

This Privacy Policy governs the collection, use, and protection of information of users of Books Vault Reader (the app, the website books.info-vault.online, and the related Telegram bot, the “Service”). The Service may collect account identifiers, technical information, and interaction history. Data is used to operate the Service, contact the user, and improve the product. Information may be shared with third parties only where required by law, to fulfill obligations to the user (including payment processing), or with the user’s consent. Data is stored for as long as needed for those purposes and protected with reasonable measures. The user is responsible for risks related to transmitting data over the internet. The Administration may update this Policy without prior notice; continued use of the Service means acceptance of the updated Policy.

1. General provisions

1.1. This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) governs how information that the User provides when using the Service is processed and protected.

1.2. By using the Service, the User accepts this Policy. If the User does not agree, they must stop using the Service.

1.3. The app is designed for local reading. Cloud sync, WebDAV, AI, translation, TTS, and paid subscription are optional features that the User enables themselves.

2. Information we collect

2.1. The Service may collect:

  • account identifiers (login, ID, nickname, email if registered by email);
  • technical information (IP address, browser, device, and operating system data);
  • interaction history (reading progress, notes, support tickets, paid subscription details);
  • on-device data: library, book files, bookmarks, reader settings, and other in-app data.

2.2. The Service does not require passport data, identity documents, photos, or other personal information beyond what is needed to operate.

2.3. If Books Vault cloud sync is enabled, a copy of sync data (books, progress, notes, and related metadata) is stored on our servers. WebDAV data is stored on the server specified by the User.

2.4. If AI, translation, or TTS is enabled, selected text and chat messages are sent only to the provider chosen by the User.

3. How we use information

3.1. Information is used only to:

  • provide the Service (reading, sync, subscription, support);
  • contact the User (notifications and support);
  • process payments for digital services via a payment provider;
  • analyze and improve the Service.

3.2. We do not sell user data or share it with third parties for advertising or marketing.

4. Sharing with third parties

4.1. The Administration does not share data with third parties except:

  • where required by law;
  • where needed to fulfill obligations to the User (payment systems, app stores, Telegram, AI/translation/TTS providers);
  • where the User has given consent.

4.2. Subscription payments may be processed by a payment provider. The provider receives only the data needed to complete the payment and acts under its own rules.

5. Storage and protection

5.1. Data is stored for as long as needed to achieve the processing purposes.

5.2. The Administration takes reasonable security measures but does not guarantee absolute security of information transmitted over the internet.

5.3. Cloud sync data is transmitted and stored in encrypted form. Credentials for WebDAV, AI, and other external services remain on the User’s device.

6. Disclaimer

6.1. The User understands that transmitting information over the internet always involves risk.

6.2. The Administration is not responsible for loss, theft, or disclosure of data caused by third parties or the User.

6.3. Operating systems, app stores, and third-party services that the User connects independently may collect data separately from Books Vault Reader.

7. Changes

7.1. The Administration may change this Policy without prior notice.

7.2. Continued use of the Service after changes means acceptance of the updated Policy. The current version is always published on this page.
